If you've never used a forum before, this is for you!
A forum is a place where we can share and support each other with 'conversations' that are recorded for all time, and that anyone can join in on.
The idea is that someone starts a conversation (or 'topic', or 'thread'), making a comment or observation, or asking a question. Then everyone else can add their own thoughts by 'replying' to it. Each contribution is called a 'Post'. Each conversation ends up with a series 'posts' that follow on from the first post, making what's called a Thread. Normally you read an existing thread of posts from start to finish, then if you want to add your own comment you click 'Reply'.
If you want to start a new thread/topic, simply click on New Thread button.
All the threads are grouped under different headings like 'Welcome and Introductions' which you will see when you first arrive. If you click on those blue headings, you will go into the list of threads for that heading. You can either start a new one (New Thread) or click on the title of any Thread that interests you (and you can then read and Reply if you wish).
You can always click on Help at the top right! It's not that helpful, but does explain the basics, though it assumes you know what forum is!
Here are some visual steps:
1) When you arrive, you'll see this at the top:

2) Once Registered, this is how the top will look:

3) Lower down is the summary of all the forums you can access and join in with
Click on 'Welcome and Introductions':

4) Here are two Threads already in 'Welcome and Introductions'

5) Now Click on a Thread (or start a new thread - it's very similar!)

6) Finally, this is how you add your own contribution with a reply (New thread is similar)

Hope that helps - just dive in, you can't mess up!
